Artist Statement Art is all around us
Beauty can be seen in the smallest seed to the largest oil rig, a laughing child or a writhing mass of people scurrying off to work. I find beauty in the simple yet complex images of life.
Art is personal
Why do some of us crave sushi while others live for a good meatloaf? Perhaps it's personal preference, perhaps it's something chemical, perhaps it's cultural or experiential, or maybe it's just that we prefer one over the other. Do we have to know why? Must we explain it? I believe that the beauty of art is that it's value is in the eye of the beholder. If you are drawn to it, great. If you don't like it, fine. If you really love it - buy it and allow it to enhance and inspire your life in some way.
Art can be impersonal
Many of my works are designed with the corporate or commercial environment in mind. These environments sometimes call for less personal work. Something with great color, texture or form. Something interesting to look at as you pass through the lobby or dine. Many of my images can be custom colored to enhance or suit a professional environment.
Art is good
Let's face it, at the end of the day isn't life better with beautiful things to surround us. Whether it's a drawing, a digital photocollage, a beautiful print or a dandelion bouquet - nice things make life nicer.
